Philodendron Care Guide

Philodendron Care Guide

Sunlight☀️: Philodendron are rainforest understory plants, they thrive in shady locations like the inside of a home or under filtered light.

Substrate🪴: Philodendron prefer to be grown in rich and well drained soil with generous amounts of fertilizer. A mix of 2/3 potting mix and 1/3 perlite works well, although a specialist Aroid mix is ideal.

Watering💦: Philodendron enjoy frequent watering but wait until at least the top inch of the soil to dry between waterings.

Humidity☁️: Alocasia can tolerate a wide range of humidity levels but they grow best when relative humidity is above 50%

Fertilizer🌱: Solid pellet fertilizer and liquid fertilizer may be used in small quantities once a month to promote consistent growth.

Re-Potting: Repot once showing signs of becoming rootbound to avoid restricting growth.

Diseases and Pests 🦗 : Overwatering can increase the risk of bacterial blight and bacterial leaf spot. Reasonably pest resistant, but spider mites, mealybugs, scale, and thrips can cause issues. Check your plant regularly and treat promptly.
